Notre confrère Legit Reviews nous propose un test de l'Intel Pentium 4 EE 840 disposant du core Smithfield. Pour rappel, ce core est très spécial puisqu’il est double. Testé sous diverses applications comme Sandra, 3DMark, PCMark et Cinebench, ce processeur cadencé à 3.2Ghz est comparé au Pentium 4 EE 3.73Ghz ainsi qu’au Pentium 4 640 (3.2Ghz, Single Core, EM64T, 2Mo de cache). Testé sur une carte mère Intel de référence disposant du chipset i955X, il intègre 1Mo de cache L2 pour chacun de ses cores, gère bien évidement les instructions 64bits ainsi que l’Hyperthreading.

En sus de Legit Reviews, Toms Hardware Allemagne et Hexus ont également eu l’opportunité  de placer ce processeur sur leurs bancs de tests. Rien à voir avec notre poisson d'avril de vendredi dernier, rassurez-vous.
